CFO Publishing announced today that Julia Homer, the company's executive vice president and chief content officer, was named a finalist in the Lifetime Achievement award category and the Best Executive Service Businesses up to 100 Employees award category in the 7th annual Stevie Awards for Women in Business.
The Stevie Awards for Women in Business honor women executives, entrepreneurs, and the companies they run--worldwide. The Stevie Awards have been hailed as the world's premier business awards. This year, more than 1,200 entries--a record for the competition--were submitted for consideration in 54 categories, including Best Executive, Best Entrepreneur, and Best Community Involvement Program.
Winners will be announced during a gala event at the Marriott Marquis hotel in New York on Friday, November 12. Nominated female executives and entrepreneurs from the United States and several other countries are expected to attend. The presentations will be broadcast live in the U.S. by the Business TalkRadio Network.
Julia Homer is the founding editor of CFO magazine. Twenty-five years ago, she created the editorial and design concepts for the premier issue of CFO, and played a crucial role in expanding the CFO brand into conference and research divisions, as well as print editions for Europe, Asia, and China. She oversaw the launch of Treasury & Risk Management magazine and, in 1999, the content development and editorial strategy for CFO.com. Under her leadership, CFO has won numerous awards for editorial and design, and has become the recognized leader in its niche. Today CFO magazine reaches more than 400,000 financial executives. CFO.com has a monthly unique audience of 380,000 users and delivers more than three-quarters of a million page views monthly. CFO Conferences has been ranked among the Top 10 Most-Valued Podiums for C-Suite Executives in a Burson-Marsteller survey. The Duke University/CFO Magazine Business Outlook Survey, a quarterly business confidence survey developed by Ms. Homer in partnership with Duke University, is used by the Federal Reserve to gauge economic sentiment.
Finalists were chosen by business professionals worldwide. Members of the Awards' Board of Distinguished Judges & Advisors and their staffs will select Stevie Award winners from among the finalists during final judging.
