EUROPE (November 12, 2007) - Eila Rana, senior editor of CFO Europe, the monthly business magazine for chief financial officers from The Economist Group, has been awarded for outstanding reporting and analysis in this year's prestigious M&A International Media Awards sponsored by M&A International Inc. (MAI).
Receiving second prize in the Trade Print and Electronic Media – All Languages category, Ms Rana was given particular merit by the programme’s independent specialist jury for her article “Public to Private” (CFO Europe, April 2007), an exploration of the human capital challenges public-sector companies face when going private. Ms Rana was presented with the award at a gala dinner held last Friday, November 9th, as part of the M&A Mid Market Forum (“MMF”), an industry event attended by more than 300 M&A professionals from some 35 countries.
The M&A International Media Awards were established in 2006 by M&A International, a leading alliance of mid-market M&A advisory and investment banking firms, to recognise intelligent, accurate and incisive analysis of the global M&A market. The competition is open to journalists worldwide writing for both internationally distributed print media in English and business newspapers in their home countries in English or local languages.
“We are delighted and honoured that Eila’s excellent journalism has been recognised by M&A practitioners and other experts in this exciting global awards programme,” said Janet Kersnar, CFO Europe’s Editor-in-Chief. “On behalf of Eila and the rest of CFO Europe, we like to thank M&A International and its panel of judges.”
